Colleges I have attended

What colleges have you attended?

I have actually attended a few colleges in my life.

  • College du Leman – That was a middle school although it was called a college and we didn’t wear uniform so I guess it’s a college
  • Alumwell Business and Enterprise College – This was a high school and we had to wear uniform but I guess it makes the list.
  • Speciss College – This was actually my first real college and while not much learning was accomplished during my AS Levels a lot of fun was had
  • Niagara College – Attended for French night classes and I really should return as in still trying to become more fluent in French (would have inserted cute French line here but like I said I should return)
  • Seneca Polytechnic – School of Legal and Public Administration – Our little paralegal was born
  • Mohawk College – I have attended on and off, and should be back on Monday for research administration courses

That’s a lot learning on my part but I’m one of those life long learner types I guess 😅😘

Consistency in Content Creation

What are your biggest challenges?

My biggest challenge is consistency in blogging and podcasting. I have been a lot better at releasing the podcast but I am still not where I should be with preparation of the material I discuss.

When I’m reading I’m always looking for content that may be interesting but it takes the fun out of reading because it feels like everything thing is work.

With blogging I have many ideas but the time to put them down, edit and finalize just always seems to evade me.

With video content I have soo much content recorded, which I will periodically watch but I never do anything with it. I don’t know if it’s that I need better tools or maybe in this new year I need to actively set aside time for blogging, video creation and podcast ideation sessions.

I think another challenge is constantly being told or wondering am I creating good content or would my time be better spent binge watching something that someone else created.

Photos and Airports

What makes you feel nostalgic?

From the moment I discovered a camera I loved taking photos. When I was growing up we used to take as many photos as we could with the only problem being how to process all the films.

The digital evolution of photography did not stop me taking photos and I currently have 46,228 photos on my phone (I recently deleted some). In my defence some photos are for content creation but a lot are just funny videos of my family, friends and places I’ve visited.

I often get into a mood where I think of someone or something and the photos and videos I have just ease that feeling of being apart from someone.

Another thing that makes me nostalgic is airports. No matter how happy you are to be going home, going to a new place you are always leaving something behind. I’ve moved quite a bit and so airports always stir up emotions for me. From the last time I saw this person, to the time such and such missed a flight or the first time I went home without someone.

There is a pause that I take in airports that is similar to the one I take when looking at old photos that can only be described as:

a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past.

My grandparents

What relationships have a positive impact on you?

My grandparents relationships had a positive influence on me. I assumed it was a given that everyone would end up with their person sitting in the living room, talking and watching tv with their grandkids.

But once you grow up you realize it’s actually rare for couples to make it, to grow old together and even if they do then one passes away and leaves the other behind.

I know it’s easy to romanticize our grandparents relationships in the age of online, unlimited and international dating but they seemed to have marriage figured out a little more that us.
