I was going to write about some superhero origins story but then I witnessed this epic fight in my mum’s garden.
She has been concerned about what is eating her kale and she realized it was a caterpillar or worm.
She called me to look at the culprit and what did I see on the side ? Initially it was two ants trying to attack a caterpillar. Then another one quickly arrived to help.
I’ve been having some ants in the house and I love butterflies so I thought “what the heck? Let me save it.” But a little research told me that ants are natural pest control so the “villains” may actually have a point or purpose. Besides, every national geographic documentary I ever watched tells you that you are there to observe not intervene; but sheesh poor caterpillar, the unlikely villain.
I’m not really a plant person. I love nature but I didn’t really think much of keeping plants. My mum started getting one or two plants but I didn’t really pay it any mind until someone at work was moving and they were giving away plants. I thought mmmm my mum would probably like it, not realizing I would love this plant. The garden crouton. We have had it for like 3 years. It was getting thin but I think it was lack of sunlight. We all need a little light.
Our aloe vera had a flower last year. We didn’t know an aloe Vera can have a flower but it did.
Our African Bush Lily finally had a flower after about two years. It started as two stalks now they are 5 or 8.
Our pepper didn’t bear any fruit this year but it has for about 5 years I believe. Last year they had some weird bugs and this year nothing.
Some plants died, some were eaten by Lolah but generally they are doing pretty well.
Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.
It apparently means “who is like the Lord” or “who resembles the Lord” but I’m not sure if it was picked by my parents first the meaning or they just liked it. I don’t have a middle name although I do have a song by the Beetles with my name. I also loved Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion movie even though they spelt my name 😑 😊.
When I was little my pet names were mich-mich, michelin tire in UK it’s usually Chelle/Shelly and more recently many people have taken to Michelle Obama when they hear my name but my family just call me Michy pronounced mee-shii.
The strangest spelling of my name I’ve seen is Mishel and for some reason my grandfather spells it Mitchell. I have a niece named after me but they call her Mimi which is what my mums side of the family calls me. It’s always fun to hear someone is called Michelle and give them the one l or two l’s look 👀.
Apparently my lucky number is 4 but in reality I think 13 is my number and apparently it can mean “as fair as the Lord” which I think I like and agree with more than “like the Lord”.
