I rarely watch cartoons now and these are in no particular order but back in my day it was:
The Flintstones – “Yaba dada doooooo” – I love the outfits and often wondered is this how things were in the stone ages? Of course I was wrong 😂
The Jetsons – I wondered if this would be life after the Y2K but it seems no flying cars or floating houses only the promise of Amazon Prime floating deliveries, FaceTime and a very hot planet 🙃 being made hotter by self indulgent trips to space
Rugrats – I utterly and the thoroughly loved this show, not only was it inclusive it was just wholesome. Angelica was a perfect little antagonist while Chuckie was just sooo Chuckie, o the twins “You can’t handle the button Phillip”, the parents were great too and they didn’t mess up the movies. The theme song is perfect and will always remind me of my childhood or pre-teen hood days
Power Puff Girls – Bubbles was my fav
Let’s not forget the ever sarcastic Daria Morgendoff – 🎶La la la la la, Excuse me, la la la, Excuse me, la la la, you’re standing in my way …. 🎶 – This may be top 5 😅
The Wild Thornberrys – They were just weird and cute and I would say the start of “different” characters/families/cartoons?
Pinky and the Brain – They had big dreams and wanted to “try to take over the world” that is my instagram bio to this day
Dexter’s Lab – “Ooo what does this button do?”. Being an older sibling is always hard. I didn’t have a secret lab but I did have a secret *cough cough* you’ll never know 😏
As Told by Ginger – As a girl that always kept a diary and had a desire for “popularity” but still generally had fun at school with my small group of friends, I think Ginger spoke to me and for me
The Adam’s Family – Morticia and Gomez’s love for her
Angela Anaconda – “Angela Angela save me” – Nanette always had cute outfits
Ed, Edd n Eddy – The hustle spirit just to get jaw breakers really inspired me as someone with a sweet tooth)
Tellytubies – It was just sooo calming and Lala was my fav. “Oh ooooooo”.
What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?
I finally finished paying off my OSAP loan!!!
For those outside of Ontario they are student loans and the relief I have been feeling is just amazing.
When people talk about cancelling student debts it’s easy to feel like but I paid mine why should other people get theirs paid but honestly if we can find money to fund all these wars and trips to space I think we can find money to let people get educated for free.
