I don’t know if it’s Africa or just Zimbabwe but they used to say that “if you whistle at night it will call snakes”.

That terrified me. I’m petrified of snakes and I don’t love the dark so it’s a double whammy.

Now as an adult I realize, that they probably just tell you that because the adults don’t want us whistling at night. Whatever the reason, I still have a small panic attack if I hear someone whistling at night or if I feel like whistling at night. 😓
